EVENTS

Hello potential travelers!

We finally have the rough details worked out for the Hope for the Hopeless trip in October of 2010!  The trip will be comprised of two groups, each with it’s own specific purpose.

  • The sponsor/donor group is designed for those who sponsor or support Hope for the Hopeless.  We will immerse this group in the “Hope for the Hopeless experience.”  You will have the unique opportunity to see first-hand the various components of our program including the orphanage in Sululta, Drop-In Center for street children and foster care program.  Sponsors will have the opportunity to meet their precious children.  We will be working on a specific project for the children while in-country.  There will also be plenty of time to love and encourage the children, as well as experience the beauty of the country and culture of Ethiopia.

  • The second group is for those who would like to assist with a medical mission.  Medical professionals and support personnel will be needed for this team.  This team will spend time providing medical services to our children, the staff and their families.  There will also be an opportunity to work with the local clinic in Sululta, Ethiopia for the surrounding community.  There is no requirement for medical training, just an interest in improving the health and well-being of those who cannot normally receive basic medical services.

The trip is scheduled for October 2-16, 2010.

The cost is set at $3200 USD and includes airfare, accommodations in a very comfortable guest house, two meals per day, ground transportation and travel insurance.  Other expenses that you will be individually responsible for include visa fee of $20, third meal each day (less than $100 for the entire trip), travel vaccinations if you desire, and spending money for souvenirs, gifts, etc.  The cost of the trip is estimated and factors in fluctuations in airfare.  Any funds collected over and above the actual travel expenses will be transferred into the general fund and used directly for the children while we are in-country.  You will see exactly HOW your generosity benefits these beautiful kids.
